T1D Kids

Hi, I'm Forrest

I'm a Type 1 diabetes mentor, entrepreneur, and someone who knows firsthand what it’s like to navigate life with T1D. Managing diabetes every day isn’t easy—but with the right mindset, support, and tools, it becomes a challenge you can overcome.

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by blood sugar swings, carb counting, and the constant need to stay on top of your health. But I also know that diabetes doesn’t have to hold you back. It can be the thing that makes you stronger, more disciplined, and more in control of your life.

I'll warn you—once you start taking charge of your diabetes, it becomes empowering. You’ll find yourself making better food choices, feeling more energetic, and gaining the confidence to take on anything. The more you learn and grow, the easier it gets, and before you know it, you’re thriving.

Think of me as your guide on this journey. Through T1D Kids, I help Type 1 diabetic kids and their families navigate diabetes with confidence. My goal is simple—to make life with diabetes easier, healthier, and full of possibilities. You don’t have to figure this out alone—let’s do it together!

How T1D Kids started...

Growing up with Type 1 diabetes was isolating. I struggled to manage it and often felt like I was the only kid dealing with this disease. I didn’t have a community, a mentor, or anyone who truly understood what I was going through.

As I got older, I realized that managing diabetes didn’t have to feel impossible. Through mindset shifts, better nutrition tracking, and sheer determination, I was able to lower my A1C and take control of my health. But as I looked around, I saw that there weren’t many resources designed specifically for kids with T1D—especially ones that focused on making diabetes management engaging, supportive, and fun.

That’s why I created T1D Kids—a place where diabetic kids can connect, learn, and thrive together. Managing diabetes is easier when you’re surrounded by people who get it, and that sense of belonging makes all the difference. I built this program based on personal experience, research, and trial and error—so kids don’t have to go through the same struggles I did.

If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: Go all in and take responsibility. Diabetes is a part of your life, but it doesn’t have to define you or hold you back. My goal with T1D Kids is to help every child with diabetes feel that same sense of empowerment—to give them the tools, mindset, and community they need to live an incredible life with T1D.

You’re not alone in this. Welcome to T1D Kids.
